■About Japan Solar Power Co., Ltd.
Japan Solar Power is a group company of Taiyo Holdings Co., Ltd., which operates diverse businesses in the comprehensive lifestyle industry.Taiyo Holdings is engaged in large-scale construction projects, public civil engineering works, excavation, and transportation of construction waste. Recognizing that the construction and transportation industries face significant challenges in reducing CO₂ emissions, the company has proactively pursued electrification. With a goal to convert its entire fleet to EVs by fiscal year 2027, Taiyo Holdings has already introduced 15 EVs.
The newly introduced folofly F1 VAN marks Japan Solar Power’s first commercial cargo EV. It is expected to further accelerate zero-emission cultivation at the Global Agri-Farm, supervised by Japan Solar Power, where the company grows Taiyo no Tomato – Beni Suzume.
Moving forward, folofly will continue working with forward-thinking companies dedicated to sustainable development. By enhancing implementation support and after-sales services, as well as developing vehicle models and services tailored to logistics needs, we aim to contribute to decarbonization by balancing economy and ecology.
■About folofly’s F1 Series – Meeting Decarbonization Demands in the Commercial Automotive Sector
folofly has adopted a “horizontal division of labor” model, similar to that of smartphones, where product development and design are conducted domestically, while production is outsourced. This approach has allowed the company to develop and launch the F1V and F1T, 1-ton class EV trucks optimized for last-mile delivery, at twice the usual speed.
Since obtaining its commercial vehicle registration in September 2022, the F1VAN has been steadily introduced across Japan, including the Tokyo metropolitan area (Tokyo, Chiba, Saitama), the Chubu region, and from Hokkaido in the north to Okinawa in the south.
Starting in 2023, folofly has expanded its lineup with new models featuring enhanced safety and convenience features. In July, the F1VAN was officially recognized as an eligible vehicle under the Subsidy Program for Promoting the Electrification of Commercial Vehicles.
