Flatbed F1 TRUCK’s High Practicality Earns Praise, Leading to Multi-Vehicle Operation
EV manufacturer Folofly Inc. (CEO: Hiroyasu Koma, Headquarters: Kyoto, Japan) is promoting the development and adoption of 1-ton class commercial EV trucks, ideal for last-mile deliveries.
In 2022, the company introduced its second model, the flatbed-type f1 TRUCK, which boasts high versatility in its cargo area. The following year, in May 2023, Standard Transport Co., Ltd. (CEO: Takeshi Kobayashi, Headquarters: Ebina City, Kanagawa Prefecture; hereafter “Standard Transport”) became the first company nationwide to receive delivery of this model.
Standard Transport, which has an exclusive contract with Takara Standard Co., Ltd., handles the delivery of residential equipment and materials across multiple prefectures in the Kanto region. Just over a year after its initial introduction, the f1 TRUCK’s performance and practicality have been highly praised, leading to the decision to expand the fleet. As of late January, Standard Transport has officially adopted a multi-vehicle operational system.
Standard Transport’s Commitment to a Sustainable Society
Since its establishment in 1964, Standard Transport has been working for nearly 60 years under its action principle of “safe and reliable service,” aiming to set the standard in the transportation industry through various social contribution efforts.
In 1972, the company signed an exclusive contract with Takara Standard Co., Ltd. and has since been responsible for delivering its products, in addition to handling miscellaneous goods, beverages, and food products across the Kanto region. In 2003, Standard Transport obtained the G-Mark, a certification for “Safety Excellence Businesses” promoted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport, and Tourism. Furthermore, in 2015, the company launched its Recycling Division, focusing on the collection and transport of industrial waste within the Kanto region.
By expanding its fleet with additional f1 TRUCK units—vehicles that can be driven with a standard automatic transmission license, making them accessible to women and younger generations—Standard Transport is taking further proactive steps toward decarbonization and a sustainable society.
folofly remains committed to working with pioneering companies dedicated to sustainability. The company will continue to enhance its support services during EV adoption and after-sales service, while developing vehicle models and services that meet logistics industry demands. Through these efforts, folofly aims to contribute to decarbonization by balancing economic efficiency with environmental responsibility.
■About folofly’s F1 Series – Meeting Decarbonization Demands in the Commercial Automotive Sector
With a horizontal specialization model focusing on domestic product development and external manufacturing, Folofly has developed Japan’s first 1-ton payload EV trucks, the F1V and F1T, at twice the speed of conventional methods. The F1VAN received its commercial license in September 2022 and has since been adopted across Japan, from Hokkaido to Okinawa.
In 2023, folofly launched new models with enhanced safety and convenience features. In July, the vehicles were designated as eligible for subsidies under a government program promoting commercial EV adoption.
