Leveraging Top-Class Technology in 1-Ton Commercial EVs to Support Future-Oriented Concept EVs
folofly Inc. (Representative Director: Hiroyasu Koma; Headquarters: Kyoto, Japan), an EV manufacturer specializing in 1-ton class EV trucks designed for last-mile delivery, has provided expertise in EV engineering for the development of Sharp Corporation’s (Representative Director and CEO: Masahiro Okitsu; Headquarters: Sakai, Osaka) first EV concept model, “LDK+,” which was planned and developed in collaboration with FOXCONN. folofly is pleased to announce its participation as a development partner for the unveiling of “LDK+” at the “SHARP Tech-Day’24 ‘Innovation Showcase'” to be held at Tokyo International Forum on September 17 and 18.
Since last year, Sharp has been hosting the “SHARP Tech-Day,” a technology exhibition event aimed at realizing a more comfortable future lifestyle. This large-scale event, conducted in collaboration with advanced technology partner companies, showcases products and services leading to societal innovation and has garnered significant attention. This year, Sharp plans to introduce solutions under the themes of “AI,” “GREEN ENERGY,” “INDUSTRY,” and “COMMUNICATION,” including the unveiling of its first EV concept model.
folofly has collaborated in the development of Sharp’s concept model “LDK+.” “LDK+” proposes a new concept by viewing the vehicle interior as an “extension of the living room space,” focusing on the time when the vehicle is stationary.
In the development process of this futuristic concept EV, folofly contributed to the project by providing technical support based on its experience in developing EV trucks currently operating nationwide and data obtained from vehicle operations. Moving forward, folofly will continue to collaborate with forward-thinking companies dedicated to building a sustainable society, contributing to decarbonization that balances economy and ecology.

About SHARP Tech-Day
For information and registration regarding “SHARP Tech-Day’24 ‘Innovation Showcase’,” please refer to the special website below.
folofly focuses on domestic product development and design while outsourcing production in a “horizontal division of labor” style, similar to smartphones, achieving the development and sale of Japan’s first 1-ton class EV trucks, F1V and F1T, at twice the usual speed. Since obtaining commercial vehicle registration in September 2022, the F1VAN has been deployed nationwide, from Hokkaido in the north to Okinawa in the south, including the Kanto and Chubu regions. In 2023, folofly introduced new models with enhanced safety features and convenience, and in July, the F1 series was certified as eligible for subsidies under the Commercial Vehicle Electrification Promotion Project. Moving forward, folofly will collaborate with forward-thinking companies striving for a sustainable society, enhancing support during introduction and after-sales services, and developing vehicles and services tailored to diverse logistics needs, contributing to decarbonization that balances economy and ecology.
