On March 30, folofly Inc. (Representative Director: Hiroyasu Koma; Headquarters: Kyoto, Japan), an EV manufacturer specializing in 1-ton class EV trucks designed for last-mile delivery, held a new vehicle presentation at the “E-Tokyo Festival 2024” held at Tokyo Big Sight.
In front of numerous media and participants, folofly unveiled its largest models to date: the F2, accommodating payloads ranging from 1.5 to 2.5 tons, and Japan’s first “Mobile EV Okonomiyaki Food Truck,” co-developed with Chibo Holdings Co., Ltd., based on the existing F1 model.
Vehicles supporting payloads of 1.5 to 2.5 tons are in high demand in the Japanese market. However, the limited selection of EV options and their higher prices compared to gasoline vehicles have posed significant barriers for companies aiming to transition to electric fleets. To address these challenges, folofly plans to conduct test-driving sessions for companies pursuing decarbonization strategies, incorporating advanced safety features such as automatic braking (collision mitigation brakes), and developing new functionalities tailored to Japanese user requirements. Mass production of the F2 is scheduled to commence in 2025. Additionally, folofly is committed to co-developing customized models that meet the specific needs of individual enterprises.
