Eco-Friendly Urban Delivery Achieved with Highly Maneuverable 1-Ton Class EV Van
Folofly Co., Ltd. (CEO: Hiroyasu Koma, Headquarters: Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture), an EV manufacturer that has developed Japan’s first 1-ton class EV truck optimized for last-mile delivery, is actively promoting its nationwide adoption. Now, Seino Transportation Co., Ltd. (President: Yasuhisa Kotera, Headquarters: Ogaki City, Gifu Prefecture), a leading B2B logistics provider, has introduced the folofly F1 VAN into its operations. Starting December 4, these vehicles will begin serving mainly in urban delivery routes.
Since obtaining commercial license plate registration in September 2022, the F1 VAN has been operating in home delivery across a wide range of regions, including Tokyo, Chiba, and Saitama in the Kanto area, the Chubu region, and as far north as Hokkaido and south to Okinawa. In 2023, new models with enhanced safety and convenience features were launched. In July of the same year, the F1 VAN was certified as a subsidized vehicle under the Commercial Vehicle Electrification Promotion Program. Additionally, at the JAPAN MOBILITY SHOW 2023, folofly unveiled its new four-seater model F1VS4 designed for fleet use, further expanding its appeal.
folofly continues to strengthen its support and after-sales services through partnerships with major corporations, working to promote the practical adoption of commercial EVs nationwide.
About Seino Transportation Co., Ltd.
Founded in 1946 and headquartered in Gifu Prefecture, Seino Transportation Co., Ltd. is a comprehensive logistics company with top market share in the B2B logistics sector. Known for its “Kangaroo” parcel service and robust domestic and international logistics infrastructure, Seino excels in high self-owned vehicle ratios and large transport capacity. As part of its commitment to Green Logistics and efforts to address emerging challenges, Seino has adopted the folofly F1 VAN to help decarbonize its logistics operations.
folofly F1 Series – Meeting the Growing Demand for Decarbonization in Commercial Vehicles
folofly utilizes a “horizontal division of labor” model—focusing on design and development in Japan while outsourcing production—to achieve double the typical development speed. This approach enabled folofly to launch Japan’s first 1-ton class EV trucks: the F1VAN and F1TRUCK. Since its commercial registration in September 2022, the F1 VAN has been adopted in regions across Japan, from the Tokyo metropolitan area to Okinawa and Hokkaido. In 2023, new models with enhanced safety and usability features were released. The F1 VAN was officially recognized in July as eligible for subsidies under the Commercial Vehicle Electrification Promotion Program.
folofly remains committed to collaborating with forward-thinking companies that support sustainability. Through continuous development of EV models and services tailored to logistics needs, as well as robust support and after-sales service systems, folofly aims to contribute to a carbon-neutral future that balances economy and ecology.
