Suzuyo Introduces Shizuoka’s First folofly F1 VAN to Advance Decarbonization in Logistics

Contributing to Carbon Neutrality at Shimizu Port with EV Truck Deployment

Folofly Co., Ltd. (CEO: Hiroyasu Koma, Headquarters: Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture), an EV manufacturer that developed Japan’s first 1-ton class EV truck optimized for last-mile logistics, continues to expand its domestic adoption.

Now, Suzuyo & Co., Ltd. (President: Kenichiro Suzuki, Headquarters: Shizuoka City, Shizuoka Prefecture)—a comprehensive logistics company with a wide domestic and international network—has introduced the folofly F1 VAN. The vehicle will be used as a privately operated work truck at Shimizu Port, marking the first deployment of folofly’s EV in Shizuoka Prefecture.

Since acquiring a commercial license in September 2022, the F1 VAN has been operating in delivery businesses across Japan—from the Kanto region (Tokyo, Chiba, Saitama) to Hokkaido in the north and Okinawa in the south. With this first deployment in Shizuoka, folofly will continue to strengthen introduction support and after-sales service through its collaboration with Marubeni Automotive, promoting practical adoption of commercial EVs nationwide.

Partnership with Suzuyo to Promote Decarbonization at Shimizu Port

Founded over 220 years ago, Suzuyo & Co., Ltd. is a leading company in Shizuoka, centered on logistics and composed of over 140 group companies. Rooted in the philosophy of Tomoi-ki (coexistence), Suzuyo develops a wide range of businesses adapted to modern needs.

At its operational hub, Shimizu Port, Suzuyo is working to build a Carbon Neutral Port (CNP) by developing next-generation energy infrastructure and enhancing port functions, with the goal of achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions.

By introducing the folofly F1 VAN as a work vehicle at the port, Suzuyo will actively contribute to reducing CO₂ emissions and accelerating decarbonization at Shimizu Port.

folofly F1 Series – Meeting the Decarbonization Needs of the Commercial Vehicle Sector

folofly employs a horizontal division of labor model—focusing on planning and design in Japan while outsourcing production overseas—similar to the smartphone industry. This approach enabled the company to develop and release Japan’s first 1-ton class EV trucks, the F1 VAN and F1 TRUCK, at twice the typical speed.

As the push for decarbonization intensifies, demand for EV commercial vehicles continues to grow across diverse industries, transportation methods, and cargo types. folofly remains committed to supporting a sustainable society by developing vehicle models and services tailored to real-world logistics needs—achieving both economic and ecological value.
