Launch of Demonstration Experiment for an Eco-Friendly Shared Bicycle System Utilizing Renewable Energy and EV Trucks by folofly

folofly Co., Ltd. (President: Hiroyasu Koma, Headquarters: Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture), an EV manufacturer, announced its second self-developed 1-ton flatbed EV truck, the folofly F1 TRUCK, in June last year. As a customizable model for the cargo space, it has garnered attention across various industries.

Today, folofly is pleased to announce that the folofly F1 TRUCK has been selected as a demonstration experiment vehicle for optimizing shared bicycle placement using renewable energy and EV trucks. This experiment is currently being conducted in Chuo Ward, Tokyo, by NTT DOCOMO, INC. and DOCOMO BIKESHARE, INC.

Background of the folofly F1 Series Development: Responding to Decarbonization Needs in the Commercial Vehicle Industry

folofly has adopted a “horizontal specialization” model, focusing on planning and design domestically, while outsourcing production overseas, similar to the smartphone industry. This has enabled the company to develop and market Japan’s first 1-ton class EV trucks, F1 VAN and F1 TRUCK, at twice the usual speed. Demand for decarbonization-compliant vehicles varies greatly depending on industry, transportation mode, and cargo type. folofly is committed to contributing to a sustainable society by collaborating with forward-thinking companies to develop vehicles and services tailored to these diverse needs.
